Me and Will have created a questionnaire that we have handed out to a lot of people we have then put the data into Excel, we used excel because it is good with numbers and easy to create tables and charts for the data bellow is the speadsheet that we made.

ths is a clip nthat me and Will made to give an idea about what our title could look like the font we used is called chicken scratch and the reason we used thuis font ans it is scary and this is the effect that we want to give to the audience also the font looks like it has been carved on a tree and in the poster that we made it shows this, the film is about and boy in love and taking his revenge and in love films you see people carving there initials in a tree wso that they can remember the time they had and this is another effect that we are tryiing to encorporate

Film title

In mine and Wills film we have decided on a title and it is called 'Mine Forever' it took us a lot of time to come up with this title and we had a lot of other options like 'Miners Revenge' we have also made a poster of what would go out in our marketing campain.

Film meeting

Me and Will had a meeting a couple of days ago about the storyline and cast of the film, we have decided a basic plot for the first 2 minutes and we have also decided we will use 1 actor as Tom Nood the ghost, we will need another 7 actors as the group of friends and we will also need 1 actor to act as the police man. We will only need this amount of people because at one point in every clip there will always be one person out of the shot who can film the shot

firstly we are going to have to get some tents as we are setting it on a camping trip

we will also need to make a victorian coal miners outfit for the main character to wear

Police officers outfit and for the campers they will just have to wear there normal clothes so that part will not be a problem the murder weapon which we havent decided on yet will also be a prop and i will blog about the weapon when we have thought about what one to use but it will most probably be one of the weapons used in my prezi

In our film me and Will are thinking that we would like to do a horror film as it is the genre that we both enjoy the most. but we have decided that if we are going to do the horror film to make it a 15 as we have done some research and we found that most horror films that are rated 15 have done well so we wanted to hopefully continue that. these charts show you what films have done the best and this should show you why me and Will have chosen to do this age certification.

idea for film

in one of my previous blogs i listed a few ideas for the film project and we are going to do the first one this post will describe in depth what the horror story is about.

There was a boy who worked in the coalmines in the victorian times, he worked long and hard and the foreman was very cruel and harsh to the boy. One day the foreman brought his daughter to work as soon as the boy saw the foremans daughter he fell in love with her, he decided to buy her a gift, he had been saving up his money and got her a ring, he went to the foremans house to give his daughter the ring. The foreman saw the boy giving the ring and was so angry that the poor boy and his daughter were goign to fall in love he got a knife out of his sheath on his belt and he stabbed the boy until the boy was dead, when coming to realise what he had done he took the boy into the woods near the coal mine and dug a shallow grave and buried him, the boys soul continued to haunt the woods that he was buried in. after a while the people of the small town moved out as the hauntings was scaring of the tourism , the town started to shut down and the coalmine was abandoned, a few people still stayed in the town but the majority left, the woods becames a hotspot for missing persons cases but that didnt stop people visiting from time to time.

A group of friends had graduated and they decided to go camping to celebrate, they packed their bags and headed of they hadnt planned on where they were going to go so they looked on the map and found a small rural town and thought they would pay it a visit when they got there they unpacked and set up camp as soon as night fell one of there friends disapeared and no one knows where he is one by one they got taken by the ghost left with three of them they made it to an abandoned house, the house where the foreman lived they thought the thing that was stalking them wouldnt find them and they made there way to a room upstairs , they ended up in the foremans daughters room the ghost sees the girls dressing table and the ring that he had bought her and began to cry he picks up the ring and vanishes . the kids run back as fast as they can to their car and drive to the nearest police station to tell them what had happened to their friends but the police officer didnt believe them.

ideas for film project

Me and Will havent decided what the storyline for our film is going to be but we have have come up with a few options for possible storylines these are a few we have already come up with
first storyline is
The killer is a victorian child who was killed in the coal mines by the foreman for falling in love with his daughter. And he would come back to kill anyone who is near the coal mines until he is reunited with his lover, the story is based around a group of teens camping in the forrest, not knowing the the killer is in the woods and he is picking them off one by one.

2nd idea
a psychopatic maniac escapes from a mental asylum, he was in there forkilling a man , he escapes by killing the nurse and steeling his uniform and gets into a one on one fught

Although you are still needing to include storyboards, scripts, photos of location, interviews with actors and research into your target audience you are short of analysis into film openings. Include at least six posts analysis films in your chosen genre and include some posts analysing a wide range of film genres. There should be twice as much posted so far Adam.

Costumes for film

because it is a horror film the outfits that the characters wear are going to have to be ordinary clothes, that people would wear in everyday life except the killer who will have to have a costume that shows exactly who they are meant to be. this is just a plain black t-shirt that could be worn by one of the characters in the film 

with Freddie Cruger and he is wearing a simple stripy jumper and a hat which isnt really a distinctive outfit that could be expected for a horror villain but the fact he has burns on his face and long sharp claws show that he is defiantly the killer in the films that he is in so it is possible to use ordinary clothes but have items that show or suggest to the viewers that he is the one doing the killings    

Shot idea and music for film

i had an idea today that i told my partner we could use and it is that we could have someone running through the woods and the camera would be placed tracking the characters feet with the leaves or mud on the floor and then for them to trip, this would show that the character is running for their lives, also to have a shot of the killer to be standing there and the shot to be on their shadow and then to see them produce the weapon that they are going to use to kill the character running this could be effective if we edit it right because we could make the audience jump the music would play a massive part in creating the suspense for both when the character is running the music will have to be fast paced and scary to emphasis the terror that the victim is going through and also to show how fast they are running. when the camera goes onto the killer character the music will have to be fast and daunting and then to suddenly come to an abrupt stop this could suggest to the audience that it is the end of victims life.

potential Location for the film

for the location of the film me and my partner Will thought that Ashtead common would be a pretty good place as it is looks isolated which is something that horrors seem to use like in Jeepers Creepers in the opening when the Brother and Sister are in the car on there way home and they are on the road which has no cars or houses on. We are thinking of doing something similar. here are some pictures of potential locations where we may have our film. also abandoned houses are used a lot in horror films churches, churches are represented as being scary because of the clash between god and the devil both religion and

Film research and planning

For the film me and my partner are going to be doing, we are thinking about doing a horror film, we chose this oppose to an action film because with a horror film the cliches and conventions are things that we cant do for examples explosions and car chases whereas horrors we can still stick to the same conventions like the night, the night is a cliche because of the limit of light which a lot of people find scary it is also use in a lot of horror films me and my partner have looked at a few films like Halloween and The Grudge 2.

Opening two minute analysis of The Grudge 2

In the opening two minutes of The Grudge 2 its completely dark for a split second and then a burst of light in different colours appear which is a signature for Columbia Pictures who are the distribution company for the film and they have editied the title which has "Columbia" writen with a lady holding a tourch this changes

it then changes to the word Grudge which replaces Columbia and the lady with the touch turns into a scary skeleton woman this screen shot will show you.

the music used in the opening is quite and gradually gets louder with a dark and ere feel to it. there is a close up of a semi open door that closes and the sound of a creaking door is a convention of a horror film this is another feature that is for ghost  house pictures also there is non-diegetic sound of a girl singing this is a common cliche for horror films there is something thing about children in horror films that people find exceptionally scary i believe it is because children are meant to represent innocence and that is why people find them scary.while the audience hears the girl singing and the door creak then slam the logo of ghost house pictures appears through the key hole of the door and the

180 degree rule

the 180 degree rule is when two people are talking and the directors choose what side of the scene they are going to film from. when they have decided they cant move onto the otherside this will cause the scene to look odd because the actors will be in the opposite position to where they started. if your the director you have to imagine there is a line so they know where the camera can and can't go. this is a picture i found that will show you what it is.

Preliminary task Toilet Scene and analysis

The Scene was created by Sam De Almedia and William Huck i have edited it a little and added the credits at the end of the scene. the video jumps straight into the scene this is because it is a short clip so it allows the audience watching to just watch without getting bored. In the scene there are a variety of shots used for example a close up shot of the character we are introduced to first when walking into the toilets seeing what is behind him showing what type of place the shot has been taken from. you can see that there is a classroom directly behind the character who has just walked into the shot so the audience knows that the scene is shot in a school giving the audience wider knowledge even without telling them that it is a school.

Analysis of the opening two minutes of Transformers

In the opening two minutes of the first "Transformers" film, there is no doubt that the film is a Sci-Fi the opening is dark and looks like the audience is looking into space giving the hint of science fiction also the non diagetic sounds, alien or machine like sounds which will get the audience excited and thinking about what events are going to happen during the film. We hear the voice of the main autobot the name of the good transformers named optimism prime and because he is the best good robot in the film hearing his voice excites the audience. We are then introduced to a mysterious cube that appears on the screen giving the audience a little clue that the cube is going be the reason for all the action in the film the cube is shown speeding towards planet earth which is an establishing shot telling the audience where the transformers are going to have to go in order to reunite with the cube. In optimism primes monologue he say the word "war" a couple of times and he also says "good VS evil" all of these words suggest to the viewers that there is going to be a lot of fights and action in the film, a really effective technique used in the opening of "Transformers" is when the title appears on the screen but it is the cube that transforms into the word "Transformers" this is a really impressive edit as it is relevant. The first camera shot that you see in the film is an establishing shot of "Qatar" this shot shows the audience where the first scene is going to take place there are a fleet of army planes with the first set of characters shown to the viewers there is non diagetic music playing, which usually associated with army films or in this case an army scene it adds tension to the audience which would make to viewers want to stay and watch the rest of the film as the opening was so compelling.
