evaluation activity 6
For the creation of the opening two minutes of mine together I used a lot of different software and hardware.
when i first started the planning the film i had never film done any filming before and .
before or using video editing programme. since starting the filming and during the course i have learnt a lot of different camera angles and shots. in the editing we used adobe premier elements and to create the anamatic we used adobe flash
these are a few pictures of what equipment that we have used in the filming, production and editing parts of making the film.

We got our title font from a website called dafont.com the font that we used is called chicken scratch we thought it worked well with the storyline of our horror film, the reason was that because the opening two minutes is set in the woods and the font looks like someone has carved letters into a tree. the font was not copyright.

the first picture i am going to post is the tripod, the tripod was there to help us create a smooth pan and to keep the camera still so that we had perfect shots i had not used a tripod before but i learnt easily as they arent the hardest equipment to use
we also used the camera to film the camera was called DV1 and below are pictures of it from the front and from the back. there was another option of camera that we could have used but we opted for this one as it has a better zoom and it was HD so we knew that it would produce a good quality picture which it did.
we used Adobe Premier Elements as it is a good editing software which is fairly straight forward to use and it gives it a professional look, it was good from my point of view as it I am an amateur as i was able to make it look professional.
We also used adobe flash which is the software that Will used to create the storyboard it the software allows you to create short films, you can also draw pictures and it will fill in the frames. it worked well for our animatic as it gave a clear idea to the audience what we were trying to create and i think it came out well .

We used paint to create some still shots it was a good tool to use as it is relatively easy to edit photos and it was quick,
For the soundtrack will tried to make the music on garageband but we then found one on the internet and we thought that it fitted it perfect so we decided to go with that one. it was not copyright.
for the poster we used Photoshop it is quite an advanced software which allowed us to create a professional looking poster this allows the audience to get a glimpse at what the film is about and gets the audience thinking.

Evaluation task 1
The first screen-grab is of the 'Title page' 'Mine Forever' you will see that we have used a scary font called Chicken scratch it fits in well will the storyline as it looks like when someone scratches on a tree. It is a typical cliche of a horror film to have a spooky font as the title page we had it on a a black background with the writing in white this to make to make the white font to stand out. The black background could suggest to the audience that the film wil be 'dark'.
This Frame shows the detective in our film (Mr Thornton) , the way Mr Thornton is dressed shows the audience that he is a detective with his suit on with a plain black coat over which is seen in many films or Tv Programmes staring a detective. He is sitting in an interrogation room talking to one of the servivors ( Sam De Almeida) This is an over the shoulder shot and the way that the detective is sitting kind of slouching with his hand on his forehead could suggest to the audience that he doesnt believe the story he is being told, about the ghost who is killing lots of people this is a chliche of horror films where the main characters try and tell someone about what is going on and they dont believe them and then later on in the story they will see said 'Ghost,' 'killer' or 'vampire'
In this shot we see an eye level shot of the Servivor (Sam De Almeida) this allows the audience to get the sence of being in the detectives role and makes it seem more realistic. Sam is explaining to the Detective what has been going on, Sam is wearing normal teenage wear, he is wearing a hoodie jeans and a polo shirt this is common wear for a Teenager. this alows the audience to emphathis with him as they could picture themselves in his shoes. The dim light in the interrogation room reflects t the audience Sam's mood we can also tell that he is upset from his body language he his closed up which could suggest to the audience that he is vulnerable making them symphais with him the pain white door behind Sam suggests to the audience that he is in a government building.
In this shot we see one of the victims played by (Sidney Ratcliff) walking down an alley way on his way to his car to get his phone the story starts of in the detectives room and then flashes back, the victim Sidney is walking down an alley the shot is a long shot and this to make the alley seem long and that the victim is alone and vulnerable it also builds the tension in the audience as they know it is a horror film so they know there will be killings and blood so this alley way builds the tension and they think the victim will be killed here it is scene in alot of horror films. Sidney is wearing a hoodie and tracksuit bottoms this is normal for a teenager who is going camping and with the actor wearing this it allows the audience of teenagers to be able to connect with him
This frame is of Sidney the victim and it is set in a car, Sid is looking for his phone and in the scene that we shot we knew that it was a typical scene that has happened in many horror films and the scene is that he looks in his rear view mirror and sees nothing and then looks again and sees the ghost. the shot is a mid shot this is so that the audience can see more than just the victim this could make the audience try and figure out what is going to happen next and that is what we set out to achieve in our film we wanted to make the audience keep thinking so that if we did show the opening two minutes in the cinema or online then the viewers will be left thinking and hopefully want to see the full film,
In this screengrab we see the vicim Sidney answering his phon not realising that the ghost is behind him which is a cliche of horror film it makes the audience talk about how they would react in that situation there is the well known reactions like 'Dont go into the closet' or 'look behind you' we thought about these reactions and wanted to make our film to produce this sort of reactions and we thought that this scene would produce this. As you can see the ghost closer in this shot you will see what i meant with the ghostly face paint and the victorian clothes.
In this shot we can see the victim Sidney trying to escape the ghost that he has just noticed behind him. this is a two shot with the scared and vulnerable victim in the background and the scary ghost is in the foreground giving him the power as he is the focus pull with the bright white skin and shirt. The Ghost has his mouth wide open this along with the blood around his mouth and hands will suggest to the audience that he is going to kill him and eat him or atleast drink his blood this isnt a cliche with a ghost horror film as it is common with Vampire films but we thought it would add a twist to the story and would defiantly keep the audience intrested and wanting to watch more we dont let the audience see any of the victims dead in the opening two minutes of the fim as we thought it would be to early and we wanted to build the suspence in the story but we would have added the killing in pretty soon afterwards this will allow the audience to fear what the ghost can do and wonder what else he will do his victims.

Actor Interview
this is the interview i did on Wil al about makng the film and his own prefrences
nterviewer - Hello there, whats your name and how old are you?
Me - Hello, My name is William huck and I am 17 years old.
Interviewer - Okay will, so you played the ghost in the film?
Me - Yes, it was really fun being the killer as you get a lot of screen time and your what is remembered the most about the film.
Interviewer - Did you enjoy acting?
Me - I have never done it before so it was a bit pressurised but it became funner later on when I became used to it.
Interviewer - Ah good, what was your favourite scene?
Me - My favourite bit was at the start in the car where you see me sneak up on my Victim.
Interviewer - If you could play another part what would it be?
Me - If anything, I think I would of enjoyed playing the Detective as they are always cool headed characters and they also usually have an important role in the film.
Interviewer - Very cool. How did you find the costume for the ghost?
Me - It was quite an effort to get on and off due to the make- up but it made the film look a lot better as you can easily tell I'm a ghost in it.
Interviewer - Do you like the story line?
Me - Yes, it’s an original storyline; I haven't heard or seen anything similar either which is good.
Interviewer - Yes it is, do you think they will change the film into a book, or is a sequel lined up?
Me - I think if the film sold well then they would be silly not to sell a book of it as it opens the product to a new market as older people generally seem to read more than watch movies. Also selling a book would also help generate profit which could be used to create a sequel, I'm not sure where the story would go but I'm sure the writers will make a good turn of events if a second is created.
Interviewer - Was this your first time in a big role?
Me - I have never acted before! Let alone a big role, it was a challenge but I'm proud I did it.
Interviewer - Do you think Mine Forever will sell well?
Me - Of course! With such a good storyline and acting like min, it would be hard not to win an award!
Interviewer - Did you train in any way in order to partake in this role?
Me - No, I didn't train at all, it just comes naturally.
Interviewer - What is your favourite Horror film?
Me - Probably dead silence, it’s a real classic, the dolls freak me out!
Interviewer - Do you think you will continue acting after Mine Forever?
Me - Maybe, I'm not really sure.
Interviewer - Thank you
